Another original Singer catalog (please see my other items) as follows:
List of Singer Sewing Machines (Elizabethport) with Prices, Descriptions and Other Information in Relation to Them, Form 7918, Revised May 1, 1917, The Singer Manufacturing Co, not paginated (estimate 200+ pages), 7x9.5, black/white illustrations, limp leather binder. [NOTE: Elizabethport appears on the title page but the gilt title on the binder reads Bridgeport].
This original catalog was issued to selling agents to assist them in providing the correct machine to their customers. Describes the uses of the general classes of machines along with the particular features of each machine. Listings denote speed, stitch length and other pertinent details. Also includes multiple pages listing Singer motors (both for alternating and direct current) and a section of machines recommended for various tasks (such as footballs). Black/white illustrations depict at least one model from each class with numerous additional illustrations of machines with specific optional features. Most models still have decorative gilt scrolls but plainer models are more prevalent. This was a working company document and not released to the general public and is therefore scarce. Unlike the other original catalogs I have listed there are no hand written or tipped-in updates within this catalog.
Condition: Heavy wear to binder including holes on rear cover and rust to metal fittings - contents are generally quite clean and overall in Very Good condition with shallow creasing to some page margins. Slightly musty.
